Processor
Processor is a computer control center supported by other compilers. Processor is an IC that controls a computer system and is used as the center of a computer that functions as a calculation and processing. The processor is located on the socket that has been provided by the motherboard, and can be replaced with another processor as long as it suits the existing socket on the motherboard. One of the greatest effects on computer speed depends on the type and capacity of the processor.
Processor is a chip that is often called "Microprosessor" which now has reached the size of Gigahertz (GHz). The size is the count of processor speed in processing data or information. The most widely circulated processor brands are AMD, Apple, Cyrix VIA, IBM, IDT, and Intel. Part of Processor The most important part of the processor is divided into 3, namely:
Aritcmatics Logical Unit (ALU)
Control Unit (CU)
Memory Unit (MU)

is a multinational company based in the US and is famous for the design and production of microprocessors and specializes in integrated circuits. Intel also makes network cards, mainboard chipsets, components, and other tools. Intel has an advanced research project in all aspects of semiconductor production, including MEMS. Intel replaced its logo and slogan on January 1, 2006. The old slogan "Intel inside" was replaced by "Intel Leap ahead".
Intel processor advantages
- Temperature on Intel can be set by its own processor (processor will reduce the speed if the processor is too hot.
- Pipeline on intel is longer than other processors like AMDIntel
- Turbo Boost: Increases performance by increasing core frequency according to user demand automatically. (Core i5 and i7). Example: The Intel Core i-7 720QM processor has a clock speed of 1.60 GHz for the minimum. When running an application that requires a high clock speed. Processor automatically increases clock speed up to 2.93 GHz maximum clock speed. And when not needed then automatic clock speed will decrease at minimum clock speed.
- MMX is an Intel enterprise technology. MMX is trademarked (cap / trademark) Intel, which contains understanding of processor enhancement in video compression & decompression, image manipulation, encryption, Input / Output processing.
- MMX is a technology that is fully named as Intel MMX Technology. MMX is an expanded microprocessor instruction that helps the calculation process in multiple applications, namely multimedia applications, games, two-dimensional image editor, compression / decompression, encryption, and other application
- compatible with many existing apps
- Intel has features INTEL MATRIX STORAGE function to maximize the work of processors and help in memory management
Disadvantages of Intel Processor
- Weak for the affairs of graphics, gaming and 3D programs
- The price is relatively expensive
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) was established on May 1, 1969, by a group of former executives from Fairchild Semiconductor, including Jerry Sanders III, Ed Turney, John Carey, Sven Simonsen, Jack Gifford and three members of Gifford's team, Frank Botte, Jim Giles, and Larry Stenger. The company started as a logic chip manufacturer, then entered the RAM chip business in 1975. That same year, it introduced reverse-engineered clones of the Intel 8080 microprocessor. During this period, AMD also designed and produced a series of bit-slice processor elements (Am2900 , Am29116, Am293xx) used in the design of various mini computers.
Amd processor advantages
- The price is relatively cheaper
- Hypertransport Technology. The technology of doubling the bus on the system path so that data can be delivered at a time more because of faster data traffic.
- Integrated Memory Controller. Allows the processor to access memory directly without passing the northbridge chipset first
- Enhanced Virus Protection. Technology that allows the processor to detect the virus so it will not be processed when detected
- Cool n 'Quiet. With this technology allows the use of effective power and a more quiet system when using performance as needed
- AMD64 Technology. A highly qualified technology for running 64 bit applications
Amnd Processor disadvantages
- AMD is hot fast. However it can be overcome with a cooler
- Not all apps are compatible with AMD
- if AMD comes out with the latest socket type then a socket of an earlier type will not be on the market (dis-continued),
AMD OR INTEL ,INTEL OR AMD ??
From some test results that have been done, can be concluded that the processor with multi core-Dual core or Quad core has more performance capabilities, when compared with single-core processor. This can be understood, because it is a dual core processor or quad core has a number of cores more, plus a larger L2 cache. examples for Intel Core 2 Extreme (quad core) have 4 MB L2 cache, Intel Core 2 Duo L2 cache is 1 MB, while Pentium 4 only has L2 cache of 512 KB. Especially for AMD processors are tested this time it has a performance that is almost balanced, although one of its processor is using dual core. This is because the clock processor owned both are the same, namely 2.0 GHz and L2 cache the same, ie 1 MB. Although a processor that has more than one core has better performance, but you need to remember, how you need to have a dual core processor or quad. Given the price you have to pay will be much higher, compared with processors that only have single core. For this time, comparisons were won by processors from Intel's ranks. Although not in the least, but most of the tests show a higher value than the AMD processor. In this case, we compare between Intel Core 2 Duo processor and AMD Athlon 64 X2. Advice from us, measure first to how important you need a multi core processor. Any application that will be used, and for what activity you use the CPU. It certainly also still must be coupled with how big your budget to redeem the processor with more than one core. If you really need it, then it does not hurt you to buy a processor with more than one core. If not, we recommend to continue to use a single processor with a single core, where in addition to the price is much more affordable, almost all applications on the market have compatibility of this type of processor. Keep in mind that application developers are still rare to develop applications, especially for multi-core platform.
